All About Bedroom Rugs
A rug under your bed not only creates a cozy feel to your bedroom but is also a soft place for your feet when you get up in the morning. By adding colour, pattern, and texture, an area rug is the perfect finishing touch to your bedroom design and pulls everything together. What’s the best rug size for your bed and where should it go? Read on for our recommendations!
Queen Size Bed
We like 8’x10’ rugs for queen beds, but only if your bedroom has the space for such a large rug. If that size is too large for your room, you can use a 6’x9’ or even 5’x8’ . We like to place the rug in front of nightstands for the best balance on all sides of the bed. The guide to the left shows other size and placement options for a queen size bed.

King Size Bed
There are 2 options that work best for a king bed: an 8’x10’ or a 9’x12’. Both of these choices work well but depend on how large your room is.
Crate & Barrel Niagra Rug
Pottery Barn Chunky Jute/Wool Rug
Twin Size Bed
A 5’x8’ or 5’x7’ rug works best for a twin bed. We like how the rug is placed in the image to the left, which is in front of the nightstand and nicely balanced around the bed.
